Thing is, closure of either Iranian seas, won't affect fertilizer or many other items in the USA. It mostly affects the EU.
Crude oil is the only thing the USA is concerned about. Because that affects the whole world. You don't make fertilizer from crude oil.
I actually once was bagging the darn nasty stuff. Much of it was trucked directly into Mexico.
Real farmers know how to make their own fertilizer as well. They just need to diversify.

@Roundandroundwego Other items simply won't be affected is the point. Only crude oil. Heck even stuff from China won't be affected. China is getting access by Iran itself and even you have admitted that by saying Iran accepting the yuan.
It's not like Saudi Arabia isn't shipping crude oil. The Persian Gulf isn't Saudi Arabia's only shipping route. It's the Red Sea's Suez Canal. That is primarily what goes to the USA.
