And the ironic part is that the 44 firefighters who were tricked into a single location, then interrogated, included members of the Umatilla Indian Reservation, and members of the Walla Walla Nation.
Perhaps they should have asked the ICE agents to show proof they're entitled to be here.
So far, the only thing ICE said, is that the 2 detained firefighters entered the US illegally. The Bellingham facility they took them has part time processing.
In the meanwhile Bear Gulch Fire is only 13% contained.

@newjaninev2 The team was ordered by their supervisor to relocate to a remote area, to help in an activity to reduce risk to the community.
They got there, and were waiting for an hour for their supervisor, when ICE surrounded the area and starting asking them to show their papiere. In other words, it was a ruse.
So far, the two who were detained have only been charged with entering the country illegally. But ICE can make something else up. It's still early for us, barely 7AM Friday.
