Same here. The baseboards are just too much $$$$.
Still in the deep freeze, I'm keeping the house warm enough to avoid anyissues.
Stay safe and warm out there my friend.

@beermeplease I jelly. They really got the long term forcast wrong this year for my area
beermeplease · M
@Gibbon they actually got it right here. before winter started they predicted warmer than normal temps because of the warmer currents out in the pacific ocean among other things...thank you hawaii 🙏....but it's not good for our upcoming forest fire season if the mountains don't have enough snow
Gibbon · 70-79, M
@beermeplease Yeah I find the fires out west every year very troubling to see

Electric is awful. I have baseboards as well and hate using it. Personally I tjink it should be illegal in a rental unit to force tenents to pay for it. I also am a firm believer that any construction should be banned from having any form of electric heat as the sole or primaty heat source.
Notsimilarreally · 31-35, F
That is cold. Have you covered the windows with anything to help insulate?
tobynshorty · 51-55, F
7 degrees here and in going back to bed
Musicman · 61-69, M
So what kind of heat are you using?
Gibbon · 70-79, M
@MethDozer True I'm very aware having worked with electronics my whole life but certain designs circulate air better. It's true 1500 Watts is 1500 watts no matter how it's produced.
Baseboard heaters are brute force lacking circulation taking longer to heat and I find them too expensive to operate.

@Gibbon I get that, there is a differenxe between actual heat and felt heat. I always loke the more radiant style heaters when I use electric heat( like oranhe glowing parbolic reflector types) because even if the room was cold as fuck they radiate the heat into me. If Im using electric heat I care less about air flow and hesting the room over it just shining the heat at me and feeling it.
