Opossums show up regularly in my back yard. I give them whatever leftovers I might have from dinner.

They are ugly looking but they mean well.

FlowersInHerHair · 56-60, F
I’m okay with them until they want to live under my house. Skunk sex at 3am is not pleasant.
@FlowersInHerHair Is it the sounds or the smells?
FlowersInHerHair · 56-60, F
@froggtongue Both. Especially when the guys are fighting for the girl.
Crazywaterspring · 61-69, M
I've had all three in my yard. A possum even had her babies under my shed.
ScreamingFox · 41-45, F
Always. I don't even kill spiders. It's their earth too.
I think they are cute

Once, while camping in the woods, I was sitting by my campfire and a baby raccoon came scurrying across my campsite.

It was a beautiful animal, and I felt lucky to have had that experience.

I have yet to harm any of them. Even when all three have surprised me.

i'm never mean to them, i avoid the ones on the right tho.. i saw one once in the distance cross the road and i took my dogs home lol

Looks like Beery & his mates
Degbeme · 70-79, M
None will be killed by me. If I see any that are showing signs of rabies I`ll call animal control.
i can't remember the last time i saw an opossum. i see raccoons all the time and the odd skunk. some of the lawns in our neighborhood have been destroyed by raccoons shredding them up looking for grubs. they've even gone after mine. skunks don't do as much damage. but despite that i think they are really neat animals

@beermeplease I have a family of opossum living under my backyard deck
@Jenny1234 oh...i'm surprised they are in ontario. i did read a little bit about them and they are susceptible of frost bite especially around the ears and tail. many have short ears and tails because of it. we have them here because someone introduced them to washington state in the 1920s and migrated up north. first to be found in 1949 in crescent beach (not far from me actually)

@beermeplease they are so sweet. I didn’t know all that info!
Prettybratbi1tch · 26-30, F
You mean run if I ever see them??
Degbeme · 70-79, M
@Prettybratbi1tch That`s what I do too.
