The fact is, if a person is truly into you, they will make time for you and prioritize you and seek you out. If they don't, they just want something from you on a surface level and you can waste a lot of time and effort just for pain in return. I've experienced both, and it's a night and day difference.

TL;DR - Invest in people and things that invest in you.
