Keep listening
bijouxbroussard · F
I love their songs, but I came late to that party. My niece told me about them, raving about songs they wrote before she was even born. They’ve been around since I was her age !
caPnAhab · 26-30, M
@bijouxbroussard ah, better late than never I suppose, huh. I'd probably be in the same damp as your niece then
stayfickle · 26-30, F
Been obsessed with them and been listening to “The Bends” for a week. Wish they would tour here too… someday.
I love how they experiment with their music 🎶

@caPnAhab yes for each of their album. - the experience is different.
Their first album didn’t really represent what they want their band to be.
And then The Bends and Ok Computer came in - lyrics were so personal - so relatable… bit of a techno on OKC.
Good choice getting into the radiohead rabbit hole.

@stayfickle Yeah, the first bit of lore I encountered is that Thom doesn't like Pablo Honey.
I like it. Looking forward to getting on with the rest of their stuff and the Bends is already way better

not my favorite band but I generally like them (as well as Thom solo), "Let Down" in particular is quite haunting, and they do a stellar cover of Joy Division's "Ceremony"
I've never delved into Atoms for Peace though

@ThirstenHowl nice, I like some of Thom's solo stuff too

Great purchase!! I'm mostly familiar with Kid A (kind of experimental) and OK Computer (highly listenable with great guitar)
RodneyTrotter1 · 100+, M
They're not for me, although they're clearly very talented.
I find them very gloomy and depressing.

@RodneyTrotter1 I respect that opinion. I think I'm drawn towards gloomy music
RodneyTrotter1 · 100+, M
@caPnAhab I think my opinion just changed, having just listened to High & Dry and No Surprises. There's a definite place for them in my eclectic musical taste.
thepeculiarpanda · 36-40, M
I'm a big fan of theirs, minus their first album and about half of The King of Limbs.
caPnAhab · 26-30, M
@thepeculiarpanda Curious, I always see people giving their debut some crap. I like it enough I suppose. I reckon they do because it's not so experimental?
Last time I listened to King of Limbs was highschool. I thought I remember it being super experimental

@caPnAhab Maybe, yeah. I think it's a case of having gone backwards in their discography; getting used to their more complex songwriting makes it kinda harder to back to their earlier stuff I guess. I should give it another listen this weekend though, give it a fair shake.
It is and it's got some great songs on it! Little By Little is one of my favorites of theirs actually. Feral though... Feral is a song that gives me a headache.

@thepeculiarpanda I might be the opposite where I started with rock and branched out with Electronic stuff. So when I was young, Pablo Honey was easy to like

Brings back memories!

@SethGreene531 As good music should!
FrugalNoodle · 46-50, M
I like how the lead singer sang a duet with Bjork for the movie Dancer in the Dark.
caPnAhab · 26-30, M
@FrugalNoodle that's cool. Didn't know that but I like Bjork's music too
Yes!
H1raeth · 36-40, M
They are lovely :)
hunkalove · 70-79, M
I've never heard them. Aren't they supposed to sound like the Beatles?
Kypro · 46-50, M
They’re one of the best!
Love Them
HowtoDestroyAngels · 46-50, M
I loved The Bends and OK Computer.
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
I don't think about them. 😅 I don't know their music.
caPnAhab · 26-30, M
@CrazyMusicLover hey, fair enough

Radioactive, but in the good way.
caPnAhab · 26-30, M
@ValcoreSylvestra full of radio waves. Welcome to this site, by the way
ValcoreSylvestra · 41-45, MNew
@caPnAhab Thank you, I have been radio active too for quite a while, in that Alistor and Vox have taken over my airwaves.
