You don't have to be fantastic at something to enjoy doing it.
I took up the harp because I wanted to do something that was simply and unambiguously beautiful. Ever hear a skilled harpist play? There's nothing quite like it. Ever hear a not-particularly-skilled harpist play? It's still pretty (try that with a violin!). Am I good at it? No. But I still have fun, and that's what matters.

@SwedenGuy Most likely, genetics is the culprit; nerve damage from one of those congenital problems that you don't learn about until they kick on.
