@LillyOLilly Oh look! It's that asshole Martin again. "BLOCKED" LMAO!
@LittleSamantha lol. 😜

because i can. because i like to see what i can do with it, and because i enjoy it. has absolutely nothing to do with anyone else, and everything to do with me.

indifferent to how anyone feels about me wearing it, if they don't want to, they shouldn't. all a matter of personal choice.

I voted for other...

I don't usually wear makeup, but when I do it is because I need a confidence boost..The other day ,my daughter gave me a makeover and took pictures and it was so weird..For the last 8 years I hadn't really fixed myself up..My Husband doesn't care if I fix up or not...He says he loves me for me( what is inside) not for what I look like..So over the years I started kind of feeling plain and not so attractive, even though my Husband always says that isn't true..When I was fixed up and looked in the mirror, I realized I wasn't as ugly as I thought I was..So getting fixed up the other day, was something I did just for myself..

@SW-User Aww, nice.
SW-User
@Nimbus It was a lot of fun.🙂
SweetMae · 70-79, F
I don't wear makeup very often. Mostly for formal occasions.
Nimbus · M
@SweetMae That's the best way.
SweetMae · 70-79, F
@Nimbus I think it has been better for my skin.
Loretta78 · 46-50, F
I don't know. I've never worn makeup and never will. 🙄
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@Loretta78 Good! Personally, I like the natural look.

because society decided long ago that all our worth is decided by our looks and now we just roll with it
hunkalove · 61-69, M
So men will buy them shiny things.
Nimbus · M
@hunkalove Ahaaaaaa, that's where I have been going wrong!
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@hunkalove hehe
Cowboybob · M
I'm mostly glad they do, and I don't care why.
Paliglass · 41-45, F
@Cowboybob are you saying we mostly need it!!! 😱😂
Cowboybob · M
@Paliglass oops. That wasn't intentional
Paliglass · 41-45, F
@Cowboybob 😂
AbbeyRhode · F
To compete with other women, and to attract men.
AbbeyRhode · F
@SW-User That's OK. Unfortunately, girls and women are still bombarded by the message from advertising and the media that they are worthless unless they look perfect, and many spend their lives stressing about it.
SW-User
@AbbeyRhode I know it does effect us...I only wish to be the best I can and beautiful for one is enough for me.
AbbeyRhode · F
@SW-User Awwwwww. :)
pennynoodles · 56-60, F
To make me look less dead in the morning.
Nimbus · M
I have friends that regularly wear makeup.. I think to them it's just part of getting dressed. There's no specific reason for it imo

Tho of course there are people who do it specifically for specific reasons or purposes .. Thats not always the case
Nimbus · M
@SStarfish Good point.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
Part of good grooming
Ironicman · 56-60, M
When young, to look older. When older, to look young. Not sure about the inbetween bit.
Loretta78 · 46-50, F
@Ironicman I don't wear makeup and never did. I am not ashamed of my age and will never hide it! 🙄
Ironicman · 56-60, M
Good for you. I'm just guessing with my comments about make up. I'm a bit of a silver fox on the hair side. And I'm proud to be Grey! I'm sure it makes me look old but I'm proud of my wisdom
Loretta78 · 46-50, F
@Ironicman This is EXACTLY my opinion. But to the same time your words make me thinking about it how different people are.
Many years ago I was sitting with two old women who knew me well on a table. After a while of talking those women started to complain about their age and the way how they looked like. And I've told them EXACTLY your words - that the way how they looked like is not THAT important because as more older as more wisdom they have.

Geeeezzz!!! You cannot imagine at all how these women became angry. They started to shout on me what for a bad, impolite person I am. Since those day they've never spoken any word with me again.

But probably I was really wrong. THOSE kind of people seem to wear their "grey hair of wisdom" only UPON their head but INSIDE their head they really didn't seem to have any wisdom at all - so as you apparently.
PlumBerries · 31-35, F
[c=#7700B2]i don't go out of my way to attract men . Personally make up for me is a little added confidence boost [/c]
Dlrannie · 31-35, F
Because it looks dreadful on men
Nimbus · M
@Dlrannie Alternative answer :)
ExtremeNext · 31-35
To cover their ugly faces ?
Nimbus · M
SW-User
Because they want to wear it?
Loretta78 · 46-50, F
@SW-User Not me. 🙄
Paliglass · 41-45, F
Habit. Feeling exposed or inadequate with out it. To "feel" better about their appearance. To look like they care about their appearance. Because they care about their appearance.
But i rarely wear it. Only when going out somewhere fancy or having to stand infront of alot of people so I'm not the best advocate for makeup.
Idk i dont wear it.
Loretta78 · 46-50, F
@SStarfishYour natural is beautiful enough. You don't need to wear makeup! 😊
@Loretta78 aww thank you 😊😊💗
shuhak · M
Tradition. Women have done it for centuries under the guise that it makes them look better (hides flaws??)
shuhak · M
@Nimbus NOt many people know this, but back in prehistoric times a woman decided used tree sap to heal a snake bite. When her daughter got a zit on her face just before her first date, she put some of the sap on hoping it would heal it before 7 pm. It didn't heal it, but merely concealed it. The woman's husband tah a terrible hunter and was always coming home riddled with cuts and scratches (and that was just from collecting the sticks for the arrows). So she used the sap so she wouldn't look like a sap. She even added sap from other plants to make the color more skin-blending. Whenever the man came back from hunting, she'd call him over and apply the sap. The woman's name.. Avon.
Nimbus · M
@shuhak On my! 😜
shuhak · M
@Nimbus Sort of makes history come alive, doesn't it?
(despite my horible typing mistakes)
😊 They are trying to hide what they actually look like from each other. (The 😈 made me say that.) 8)

@softspokenman 😮 😃

@softspokenman Kind of impossible to do that unless we are talking special effects type make-up then I want to be a zombie..but instead of mumbling I want brains or the like it will be more like...coffee....give me coffee...I will be a java zombie!
No,I am not stoned nor drunk?
Why does everyone ask me that?
☁☁😤☁, (cough, cough...ahh.) I dunno. @SW-User
SteelHands · 61-69, M
Women always like to decorate things. And they all secretly hate their own looks. It lets them change their looks.
Nimbus · M
@SteelHands MMmmmmmh, interesting.
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
No no. The joke goes.....Why do women wear make up and perfume ???
SweetMae · 70-79, F
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
@SweetMae I really don't remember ! 😣 @SweetMae
SweetMae · 70-79, F
@Picklebobble2 Oh!!! That's no fun!!
moonlightlove · 26-30, F
Because it covers up my acne and makes me feel more confident
None of the options in your poll. We just wear it to feel good.
SW-User
Boosts the self confidence a bit
Nimbus · M
@SW-User Yes.
Should have been a poll entry!
