Relationships are often treated like transactions.

When I had pneumonia and was sick in bed for 6 months my husband had to take over there was no 50/50- I was too sick.
When he got sick there was no 50/50- I had to take over.
Our generation knew nothing about matching energies or only giving effort if the other person did exactly the same as we did.
I guess ,what we felt was responsibility for our part in the relationship and the vows read till death do us part.
People all claim they want unconditional love but the only way to get that is to be able to love unconditionally.
Once you start measuring things that's not unconditionally is it?
In some relationships that's not possible if there's abuse or some kind of addiction that's tearing the marriage apart, I understand that.

…wow, that is profound and a real-life fact.
As long as it is not the same person always walking ahead, a little imbalance now and then is healthy.
