One of my favourite bits, from memory -
Mad Hatter to Alice, 'Would you like some wine?' Alice, 'Yes please.' Mad Hatter to Alice, 'Well, you're too young. Besides, we don't have any!'
LadyBronte · 56-60, F
@Waldorf Nice!

GuiltyBiStander · 31-35, F
Charming - BUT not in the actual book that Lewis Carrol wrote in 1865.

Nowhere.
Nada.

It's a made up hash of pop psychology/self help/boomerism that some fan fictionista spewed onto the internet, who knows when & gawd knows why :

It may not be terrible advice, it's just not a real quote from Alice.
Coldplay · 61-69, M
That is really good stuff. You must love yourself in order to be able to be loved.
LadyBronte · 56-60, F
@Coldplay Agreed.
These stories are so worth reading again as an adult - there are layers to them, deep jard truths we csn miss or forget as a child.

Youve reminded me to read this again 🤗
LadyBronte · 56-60, F
@OogieBoogie I am reading it again as well. It has been a few years since the last time. And I totally agree. No matter how much we enjoyed it as a child, as we didn't possess the intellect to appreciate the deeper meaning in those words.
GrannyWeatherwax · 61-69, F
Lovely book. Have you read The Wind in the Willows?
LadyBronte · 56-60, F
@GrannyWeatherwax Yes, but not for an awfully long time. It was another good one!
ElRengo · 70-79, M
Not at all my view on wisdom.
But of course I´m not the White Rabbit......
LadyBronte · 56-60, F
@ElRengo It gives us much to think about though.
ElRengo · 70-79, M
@LadyBronte
It does.
And what I´ve said is what it made me think about.

@BridgeOvertroubledWaters I hadn't heard that before that I recall. Thanks for posting.
@LadyBronte it's a cute play on words :)

@LadyBronte yes it was

Yes, true compassion can begin with yourself. Its all a bit mixed up, what comes first, what comes last. To know you are loved v to love.

The world, Reality, seems to like stirring it up.
