One is a water nymph who guided me to safety when I was younger and got out of depth in the sea. She looks after me when I swim or am outdoors in nature. She also likes to watch me do gymnastics 🙂 The other is a more hazy presence who calms me down when I am having difficulties with my homework.

Imaginary friends are better than real ones the world is dangerous out there I don't trust or like anyone coming to terms with me and my fictional friends.

I had a pet Hippopotamus as a child, used to drive folks crazy warning them not to bump into him. Then my Grandparents took me to the zoo and showed me a real Hippo. That was the last anyone heard of my pet Hippopotamus.

nope, its nice to have a good imagination, but having imaginary friends is taking things too far.

No imaginary friends but I daydream alot. I imagine elaborate fantasies to kind of escape for 10 to 15 minutes randomly while driving, cleaning, showering.
I have always done this since I was 5 years old.
Sometimes I continue my daydream for months in 10 minute increments or my fantasy takes a bad turn so I rewind and start a sequence over.
I've never told anyone. I've only seen this in movies of lonely or bored people such as a housewife who has a terrible life.
