This is not one of my strong points. I very rarely get angry thanks to medication but if I do then I tend to end up injuring myself in some way. I did have a punching bag for a while and that was useful for releasing anger without getting hurt.

Take long drives… the perfect music to release it…

I take a wet rag or a piece of clothing and smash it a few times into the bathtub. Or I repeatedly kick a mattress standing on its longer side.

I use to have a punching bag. That was quite satisfying. Now I just remove myself from the situation or environment that caused said anger, and focus on things I like and enjoy. For me, that usually redirects pretty well.

It used to be difficult then I realized a way to release without violence. I play music, or, as silly as it sounds, I sit with my anger.
WanderingHelplessly · 51-55, M
@Nunki I sit and think about what made me angry, why am I angry. I just let my anger wash over me
Nunki · F
The tricky thing with that is how not to let it consume you. @WanderingHelplessly
WanderingHelplessly · 51-55, M
@Nunki Yes. That sometimes happens if I am not careful

I think it through. Anger is like a warning ligt on a dash. It's on for a reason but its only a light it can't actually solve whatever the problem is. For that you go to the next step and analyze the problem. Then you might be able to solve it.
