Well, sort of. They've fleshed out things I've already felt to be true but was unable to put words, too.

Yep, way back in High School when my favorite teacher ever, Mr. Bill Roland who had fought and been wounded in World War 2 taught the English class I was in when I was 15. He was hugely inspirational and one of the most amazing human beings I will ever meet. He used to share quotes and ask us what we thought of them and the one that hit home for me like a 600 foot homerun was. "We create our own reality".

Sorry for rambling man. :-)

He is the only high school teacher I ever went back to go see and thank and he was about to retire and was in failing health and I was much less shy then and explained at some length how much he had met meant to me as not just a teacher but a role model. After that, tears welled up in his eyes he smiled and gave me a bear hug. I had no idea he was sick with cancer at the time and he passed away few years after that. He was a truly beautiful human being and in some ways the dad I never had.

Definitely. Here are a few of my favorites:

"Death is not the greatest loss in life; the greatest loss is what dies inside while you're still alive." Unknown

"It is impossible to live without failing at something, unless you live so cautiously, that you might as well not have lived at all - in which case you fail by default." Unknown

"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." Edmund Burke

Books have had a huge impact on the outlook of my life, and those are just collections of words and phrases- much more meaningful inside of context.

Indeed. 👍

I wonder which books have had the biggest impact on your life or thought patterns. Perhaps you could write about them on here. Or maybe you already have - not checked your profile.
