Planning is so important. It is a fundamental part of navigating life, offering structure, direction, and a sense of control, allowing us to achieve goals and make better decisions.
Having a plan, empowers us to feel more in control of our lives and the direction we're heading. It also allows us to think through potential outcomes and make informed decisions that align with our goals and values. A well-thought-out plan can reduce fear, uncertainty and stress, by providing a clear path forward.
From the time we're born, until we die, we make plans. Sadly, some forget that we not only need to take care of our body's, but we have a soul that must be cared for. Body and soul shall live on forever, in one of two places, as confirmed in God's Word...either heaven or hell. Therefore, it is crucial that we protect both and plan for our journey in the afterlife.
Jesus did not leave us to guess what happens to us, after we die. What happens when we die, is all revealed to us, in God's Word. We won't be able to say that God did not tell us exactly how to prepare for heaven. Our soul's eternal destination is something we cannot afford to get wrong nor guess about, if want to spend eternity in the right place. Death is a one-time event, and there is no opportunity for repentance or a second chance to make things right. Once we cross into eternity, we are there forever. That's why it's crucial to plan where our body and soul shall spend eternity, right now.
Sadly, some today are contemplating suicide. Tragically, some will make the worst mistake of their life. They will have neglected to plan where their body and soul shall spend all of eternity. It is crucial that we do not neglect our soul's destination nor leave it to chance. Unforgiven sin, keeps us from entering Heaven.
Every one of us have a choice to make, if we're to have heaven. God wants to know which place we choose! In other words, some refuse salvation from the only person that can save them, which the Bible says is Jesus. Some want nothing to do with Jesus or salvation. They curse, laugh, and mock him, saying they want nothing to do with him or salvation. God honors their decision. They cannot drag their sins into heaven, so they are shut out. Heaven is a place of purity, love, joy, and peace.
If we are honest with ourselves, we know that every one of us have sinned, and the Bible says that sin continues to keep us separated from God, until we ask him to forgive us. The Bible makes it clear...everyone is in the same spiritual boat...in need of a Savior.
When God forgives our sins, He not only washes them away, but remembers them no more. God's merciful act of love and forgiveness of our sins, is given to us as a free gift of Salvation...but it wasn't free for Jesus.
"The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord". Romans 6:23
That verse is one of the many precious promises of God, in all of Scripture: it leads us to understand our sinful nature, while promising eternal life in Christ. Can you see the problem? The "death" that is the wage of sin, is not just physical death, but also spiritual death...total separation from God. But the Good News is, the free "gift of God," is eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ. That is, while sin leads to separation from God, faith in Christ offers a path to reconciliation and eternal life. Through faith in Jesus Christ to save us, we can receive forgiveness, be restored to a relationship with God, and experience a brand new life in Christ. What a precious gift God has given us!
God has told us point blankly in His Word, that there is no such thing as reincarnation, so we must not get our hopes up on that. God made it crystal clear, that it is appointed for man to die once, and after that, we stand before God to give an account of our lives...found in Hebrews 9:27, emphasizing the finality of death and the inevitability of judgment.
What some don't know, is that those who have been "born again", (have received Christ as Savior, and their sins forgiven) have already had their sins forgiven, and shall not be judged. Through faith in Jesus Christ, believers have already received His forgiveness of sins, and are therefore not subject to eternal condemnation. They shall face a different type judgment, where their actions and works will be assessed, but not for the purpose of determining salvation or punishment for the wicked. I will write more on that at a later date.
God hopes you'll think about this and receive him as Savior today...not put that decision off. He wants you to rest, assured of Heaven. His desire is that none perish, but have everlasting life in heaven. He has prepared a special place for us.
Very beautiful post. I am a born again and you told me the importance of securing Spiritual Life first. I think Jesus Christ also wantedpeople to secure their spiritual life over this physical life when he said, "Don't you see those fouls, if God can take care of them, why won't he take care of you? (He will) , So, we shall put Spiritual Life way ahead of our Physical life.
