I’m not for religion, anyway, because people confuse that, with a personal relationship with Jesus. However, what you call “waving it in everybody’s face”, is what Jesus Himself commissioned His disciples to do, when He said, “Go ye unto all the world and preach the gospel of Jesus Christ.” Now that doesn’t mean people have to listen, but it does mean if people can talk about anything from soup to nuts, and some pretty filthy stuff at that (and you’ll notice no one says anything about that), I’m sure the followers of Christ should be able to share, as well, without undue criticism.
Contrary to belief, we do not “expect the whole world to live by their (our) rules.” They are not our rules. People are free to believe as they wish. That is their prerogative, and we respect that. Like the disciples before us, we simply share the gospel. Not because we have to, but because of our great love for God, so what some consider as “rules”, we consider that to be showing our love for God, for all He has done for us.

I miss all that too. Thank you for helping me understand your meaning better. I sure miss the old days, when a lady had enough respect about herself, not to hop into bed on a first date, or have sex with anyone who came along. Those things were held sacred back then, and it was shameful to sleep around. Now they laugh about it, but that just shows they have no understanding about values, self-respect, integrity, and morals. We never even heard that disgusting F word. Now it’s used in practically every other sentence. We had morals back then, and was rightfully proud of them. And we certainly never cursed nor showed blatant disrespect for our parents. The list goes on. Say what they want, this world would be in much better shape, by far, if we hadn’t strayed from the old ways, that’s obvious.

@LadyGrace IMHO (and it’s just my HO), it’s a bad idea to have sex too early in a relationship. So, I don’t do it.
But if other people want to, that’s none of my business. I don’t think everybody else needs to do things my way. Nor do I feel pressure to do things which may be popular - but which I know are not for me. Live and let live.

Yep. I blame the media (not just the news). They are the ones who "tell us what's cool or acceptable", and they're the ones who made the changes you mentioned above.
Regarding guns in places you don't feel they should be, it's just like the security cameras at my home- if there was no need for them, I wouldn't have them. There is, so I do.

[@But I remember a time when people did not feel like they *needed* to go everywhere armed. And there was no such thing as school shootings. When I was a kid, I think it just didn’t occur to us to bring weapons to school. The worst that would happen was a fist fight.

I also miss some "spirit" of my generation.
