@suzie1960 Thanks. I live in the southern hemisphere though so maybe it was the summer solstice here, I'm not sure.

@Wraithorn I suppose it depends on how you define winter. Here the metrological winter starts on 1st December and the astronomical one when the Sun enters Capricorn.
