@Daisy57 No one can really present a solution that works for all. The site provides facts that help people become better informed.
Anytime you think, you form an opinion, and when you express it, you can be sure that "your solution" runs afoul of someone else's solution to the exact same perceived problem. Even if you take name calling out of it.
@Northwest Yes thank you for the site name. That is helpful. I plan on reading there. I am writing down my ideas which I did not fully present well and understand if you can’t conceptualize my idea which I deleted it as it is my thought. I have many ideas as do many people. Inspiring growth sometimes using solutions that worked in our history as well as new solutions that could help innovate change and help us to grow towards a better future.
It's not really nust about us. The decisions or Administration makes, reverberate around the world. For instance riots in France, tied to cost of living increases, tied to the war we're waging in the Middle East, and our Administration trying to blame on Islamization of Europe.
We're about to start another round of war. Hegseth is in Israel to coordinate a plan to "get the job finished"
Welp, either side has proven to be the wrong answer, so maybe we should be focusing on a different course. I was hoping for ranked choice voting. I have decided that if the candidate choice is not someone that can support, then I will leave that option blank or go with none of these candidates. Our area now has more people registered as non partisans than republican or Democrat, so that kind of tells me that there are alot of people who are not happy with either party.
@Adrift I see your point on ranked (preferential) voting. Ranking the candidates in order..And much needs to be done with campaign funding to cut the impact of large sums of money for campaign contribtions..😷
@Adrift Agreed. Here we have preferential voting, and compulsory voting. That means that having had to show up to vote (and its government responsibility to make voting convenient) even if you cant find someone to vote for, you can almost always find people to vote against..😷
@Patriot96 Would a little thought out and reasoned explanation for that statement be too much to ask?? Or is all based on people being "woke"and "snowflakes"?😷
I hate to say it... But it feels like we're sort of doomed. There's so much we as a people COULD do, but a huge part of the issue is and will always be getting the United States to be exactly that.
It's become so incredibly easy to pull the wool over people's eyes these days it's really sad and very laughable especially to the rest of the world. You'd think events such as these hadn't already occurred in the past. (both distant and not so distant that the current sitting members of some parties of government were even alive when they took place.) Terrible enough that the people could look to them and learn from those events, but sadly it is not the way it's going.
Everything can't always be someone else's fault. It can't always be distracted from or deflected and pretty soon the supply of smoke and mirrors is going to run out. THEN what happens to us all? Pretending the country isn't what it is, WON'T work then.
@DancingStarGoddess OK. If you read any of my stuff I am all doom and gloom for America, its true. But this doesnt mean America will become a dust bowl or a hole in the ground. Its going to go through a real economic shake out, for sure. But exactly where that goes depends on too many varibles to predict. A hot civil war is possible. But unlikely. A stalemate between the left and right with states withdrawing from the Union is also possible and more likely. And a capitulation to the right and a "suspension"of democracy is even more likely at this point. (Thats what Project 2025 is all about) But there is the small matter of America being $40 trillion in debt. And much of that is in debt to pension funds, 401K and hedge funds and banks..All of which will be short changed either by inflation or by a refusal to honour the debt, leaving a massive hole in retirement plans and college funds for the next couple of generations. I could go on and it will be horrible. But it will pass in time and the majority will get through it. However, on the other side America will no longer be a superpower. They will be more like Russia in my personal view.. Big enough to be a problem to others. But really having a limited future and the living standard of the people dropping..😷
Those would both be very nice, but I don't see them happening- at least, not on any grand scale. Plato put it best: "If you can discover a better way of life than office-holding for your future rulers, a well-governed city becomes a possibility. For only in such a state will those rule who are truly rich, not in gold, but in the wealth that makes happiness--a good and wise life.".
Too many people and institutions hold power with utter ruthlessness- and they keep it far better than more moral folks do.
It seems the USA is always fighting between good and evil. Evil being Republicans and good being Democrats. It doesn't matter what their leaders do the people that support that side will always support them. Maybe the solution would be to break the US apart so there are two sides, then the Republicans can go completely communist and the Democrats can finally be left in peace to live long and prosper.
@Twenteen It certainly used to be that way. At least, thats how the movies showed it. But somewhere along the line, the people wearing the black hats bought all the white hats too..😷
@Crazywaterspring And Ronnie "the demented" Reagan destroyed American society by destroying the poor and middle class with his facetious, ridiculous "trickle down economics" and union busting!!!
