I had some Jehovah’s witness kids show up once. I’m not a religious person, but was bored. So when they asked if they could talk to me about Jesus or whatever I said sure.

They must’ve not been expecting that. Acted all nervous, then after like 30 seconds they handed me a flyer and walked away

I never open my door unless you call or text waaaaayyyyyyyy ahead of time. Other than that, I ain’t home.

@Stereoguy yep I’ve seen way too many crime documentaries. Women have to be overly cautious

Get yourself a RING doorbell.
You can then tell them to piss off from the comfort of your chair.

Tell them you're social distancing

@MarineBob They’re dropping mask mandates in Oklahoma schools so I think they are back at it.
Yep they dropped the mask mandate in MD on Monday. Still wearing mine but to each his own. @cherokeepatti

You have Ring?
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@MrBrownstone no. A lot of people are getting it though.
No but maybe I should get one. I’m thinking about fighting crime and a camera would be helpful. @MrBrownstone

@cherokeepatti Fortunately I live in a condo complex and we have plenty of private property and no solicitation signs.

I'm never home, unless I'm expecting a visit.

I never get mormoms or JWs knocking on my door.
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@cherokeepatti Good for you. I think they have some sort of guide saying 'don't knock on that door'. I beat them up theologically and they never came back.

@hippyjoe1955 here one must have a soliciting/peddlers permit, including the churches and politicians

@hippyjoe1955 had Mormons coming around an apartment complex where I lived 20 years ago. Every time they finished with a Mormon-Bible study they’d walk around and knock on doors. Was getting tired of it. A man knocked on my door and asked to talk about the Mormon religion. I told him I found a Book of Mormon at work that had been discarded and leafed through it. His face lit up like he had a new convert. He said “Yes what did you think?” told him it was a book of pure fiction written by one man and no evidence to back up the faith unlike the Bible, so I threw it back into the trash. You should have seen his body language. He stiffened up and put on a fake smile, it seemed like his eyes were almost spinning. He tells me he would come back when it was a better time to talk and left.
