What are Message Requests and Other Messages?
SimilarWorlds provides 3 inboxes in the Private Messages area:
Main Inbox - This is where messages normally go, when someone sends you a Message.
Examples are messages from your Friends, or from existing threads already in this inbox, or from users with very good reputation, or messages that the system believes should be considered safe.
Messages Requests - You can control which demographic of members will be able to directly inbox you or not.
Reduce inbox clutter and annoyances by filtering away messages from certain users to your Message Request folder, which you will receive no notifications of.
To set up your filters, access your Private Messages area, and press the orange button "Filter Messages". A number of options will appear so you can select the relevant options below to filter away these user's messages from your Inbox and redirect them to the Messages Requests page instead.
We might, sometimes, automatically redirect someone's new message to Messages Requests, independently of the filters, for safety.
You won't receive notifications of messages arriving this inbox. However, you can easily see that there are new unread messages in this inbox, by occasionally looking at the counter that appears next to the link to this inbox.
Other Messages - This inbox contains messages that may be unwanted. You won't receive notifications of messages arriving this inbox.
If you believe a message was sent to this inbox wrongly, you can move them by opening them and pressing the button "Move to Inbox".
If you want to move a conversation from your Inbox to your Messages Requests, you can enter the private message and press "Ignore Messages".
Contrariwise, you can also move messages from your Messages Requests to your Inbox, by entering the private message on your Message Requests and press "Move to Inbox".
