I can't access SimilarWorlds in some or all my devices

We are sorry if you are having trouble accessing SimilarWorlds.

Next time this happens, please follow these steps on the machine/device where you are having the issue, using the affected network connection.

Once you have what we are asking for, please send all the details to support@similarworlds.com, including your username, so that we can investigate what can be happening with you.
Feel free to ask any questions if you don't know how to do something.



If you are on a Windows:

  1. Open your Start Menu and type "cmd".
    If you see "Command Prompt" or "cmd", please right click on it and then press "Run as administrator".
  2. Please run these two commands, one at a time. All you need to do is to copy and paste the lines below, one at a time. They may take some seconds or minutes to complete, so please be patient until the first command ends, so that you may start the second command.

    tracert similarworlds.com > %USERPROFILE%\Desktop\similarworlds1.txt

    ping -n 50 similarworlds.com > %USERPROFILE%\Desktop\similarworlds2.txt

  3. Two files "similarworlds1" and "similarworlds2" were created in your desktop. Attach the files "similarworlds1" and "similarworlds2", or open them and copy the contents, and please send to support@similarworlds.com, including your username, and explaining all the details you can about your situation, such as when did these connection issues start happening, how often do they happen, whether you can access other websites as normal, etc.



If you are on a Mac:

  1. Click the Finder icon in your dock.
  2. Click Go at the top menu.
  3. Click Utilities.
  4. Double-click Terminal.
  5. Please run these two commands, one at a time. All you need to do is to copy and paste the lines below, one at a time (right click -> Paste, don't use Ctrl+V in the Command Line). They may take some seconds or minutes to complete, so please be patient until the first command ends, so that you may start the second command.

    traceroute -I similarworlds.com > ~/Desktop/similarworlds1.txt

    ping -c 50 similarworlds.com > ~/Desktop/similarworlds2.txt

  6. Two files "similarworlds1" and "similarworlds2" were created in your desktop. Attach the files "similarworlds1" and "similarworlds2", or open them and copy the contents, and please send to support@similarworlds.com, including your username, and explaining all the details you can about your situation, such as when did these connection issues start happening, how often do they happen, whether you can access other websites as normal, etc.



If you are on a Linux, Ubuntu,

  1. Open the Terminal on your Applications.
  2. You may need to install "traceroute", and you can do so by running in the Terminal:

    sudo apt install traceroute

  3. Please run these two commands, one at a time. All you need to do is to copy and paste the lines below, one at a time (right click -> Paste, don't use Ctrl+V in the Command Line). They may take some seconds or minutes to complete, so please be patient until the first command ends, so that you may start the second command.

    sudo traceroute -I similarworlds.com > ~/Desktop/similarworlds1.txt

    ping -c 50 similarworlds.com > ~/Desktop/similarworlds2.txt

  4. Two files "similarworlds1" and "similarworlds2" were created in your desktop. Attach the files "similarworlds1" and "similarworlds2", or open them and copy the contents, and please send to support@similarworlds.com, including your username, and explaining all the details you can about your situation, such as when did these connection issues start happening, how often do they happen, whether you can access other websites as normal, etc.



If you are on a Chrome OS,

  1. Open the Command Prompt by pressing CTRL + ALT + T.
  2. Please run these two commands, one at a time. All you need to do is to copy and paste the lines below, one at a time (right click -> Paste, don't use Ctrl+V in the Command Line). They may take some seconds or minutes to complete, so please be patient until the first command ends, so that you may start the second command.

    tracepath similarworlds.com

    ping similarworlds.com

  3. Please copy or take screenshots to ALL the contents, and please send to support@similarworlds.com, including your username, and explaining all the details you can about your situation, such as when did these connection issues start happening, how often do they happen, whether you can access other websites as normal, etc.



If you are on an Android or iPhone,

Unfortunately it is not easy to run the diagnostics suggested for the other systems above.
If you have a device with a Windows, MacOS or Linux, please see if you can access SimilarWorlds from those. If the same problem happens, kindly follow the instructions as suggested in this page for that device.
