@Slivereyes but I've been experiencing the symptoms for 6 days and only took the test today and it came back positive so surely the symptoms I was experiencing was covid therefore I only have to isolate for 5 days

I believe you isolate from the first day you had the symptoms although it would be a good idea to do a further test before you start to mix with people again .
Whichever came first.
