They said it's airborne so it's more dangerous than COVID. It's also coming here as soon as possible for sure 😁
DukeOfEarle · M
That is actually treatable and has been for many moons. Several antibiotics are effective for treatment, including streptomycin, gentamicin, and doxycycline. With treatment only 10% of people die from Bubonic plague. Chances of recovery increase if treatment is started early. Globally between 2010 and 2015 there were 3248 documented cases, which resulted in 584 deaths. The countries with the greatest number of cases are the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Madagascar, and Peru.

It’s always been here. The US gets an average of 9 cases per year

It actually never went away. There are cases every year in the US as well as around the world. But luckily it is treatable with antibiotics
Graylight · 51-55, F
I'm not sure why this is all making headlines.
The bubonic plague is always in the US, primarily in the southwestern states and still carried by rodents. On average, 7 people a year contract it but it's easily treatable with antibiotics now. Next time you're camping out in the desert, you can see the posted signs about it all over.

How's that happen? 😨
Chevy454 · 46-50, M
Maybe. Not sure@CereBellum
@Chevy454 No, that’s what the news said. It was a 10 year old boy that died.
Graylight · 51-55, F
@CereBellum It appeared in a Colorado county near Denver, I believe.
MarmeeMarch · M
It is only in North Western New Mexico and parts of AZ and a little scattered in the West - nothing East of Oklahoma.
Carissimi · F
It never left the U.S. There are some cases every year. Antibiotics work on it, so it’s not the death sentence it was in the past.
Earthwrap · 41-45, M
are you in South Lake Tahoe? cause that's where it is I guess.
PervertedPrincessOfDeath · 31-35, T
Well thats what ya get when you act like covid is the worst thing ever
AbbySvenz · F
Antibiotics can cure the plague. Not so much with Covid-19 😐️@PervertedPrincessOfDeath
PervertedPrincessOfDeath · 31-35, T
@AbbySvenz just you wait till it develops an immunity then report back
AbbySvenz · F
At nine cases a year, it’s doubtful that it would develop antibiotic resistance @PervertedPrincessOfDeath
fun4us2b · M
Bring it on, let's get all this stuff out of the way in 2020!
J0NATHAN · 36-40, M
We get a few cases each year in the states. Luckily we have treatments for it now that didn't exist during the Black Death pandemic.

Havent heard anything about that
bijouxbroussard · F
Well, it’s not a new thing...cases have been found here and there for some time. What we have now are antibiotics, and with prompt treatment it’s usually curable.

First, there were fleas. Then, there were rats... Now... Squirrels... FUCKIN' SQUIRRELS...
