@Ironicman No -but they randomly send out police patrols .Works both ways.Fines if you get caught traveling for reasons other than work.They fined a family from Birmingham on their way to Barry Island.if they hadgone to Weston super Mare-no problem

@goldenorchid if it fails you can survive for up to 2 days without treatment. They are resilient to alcohol abuse but it gets messy 20 to 30 years in. You do need it

@Ironicman that's ok, I've seen liver in supermarkets, it's not expensive and I'm sure you could strap it to your old one with some duct tape and string.
