that's at the discretion of the school I guess. I've had to pick my kids up many times when they were sick.

@oodlesofnoodles ya but you have to ride the line of not annoying or disturbing the parent at work or what have you and yet communicating when a kid is sick. When do you decide it’s bad enough to make a call home
oodlesofnoodles · 51-55, M
I can't really answer that, to me it depends on the teacher and the kid as to when its serious enough to call a parent.
NiftyWhite · 46-50, F
@oodlesofnoodles exactly!!!

Any time a student is sent to or shows up at the infirmary (do they still use that word?) a parent should be notified immediatly. The parent will know more health data about the child than the nurse would and maybe the parent thinks the nurse is incompetent. The parent can decide what to do from there. This also helps protect the school from a liability point.

@MikeSp no school nurses where i am from. just a teacher judgement. i agree with you.

A fever would be a good start.
NiftyWhite · 46-50, F
@Rocknrod what if they have boogers flying out of their nose and sneezing rapid fire?
