I have run into it too many times. Whether it's OKCupid, Match.com, or any other site. No direct answer to any question I ask, at best the answer is generic. Then they are out of town or out of the country. And finally there is the money pitch. There in some jam. The best was the claim that she was working for UNICEF in Africa (sure that was really a woman at the other end of the conversation), and then she got sick from the food and needed money for medicine and better food. Of course we had never met in person (like that is going to happen).
My response: "Game over. Thank you for playing. "
And then there are the pics that are just too good to be true. I ran google image searches and find that the pics were either porn stars or lifted from modeling website. One pic was from the Ford modeling agency.
Once again
Game over. Thank you for playing.
I have since concluded that online dating is one big scam.

Thanks for the headsup. Should be cautious.

Wow I can't even imagine.

A sure fire way to break contact with me is to ask for money. Sometimes even a little more personal info being requested sets off warning bells.

A group of Internet dating scammers got caught and sentenced a few years ago here in the UK. I distinctly remember one of them was called Monty Emu. So what kind of bird was he then? A jailbird of course!

I've had at least a half dozen of these type of encounters, fortunately never parting with money. Red flags were a British accent, phone number that only works one way, promising undying love at an insanely early pace. Always out of the country, eventually get mysteriously trapped and can't touch their millions for some nonsensical reason.
Do they really think we are that dumb???
