It is perfectly fine in an informal setting with your friends or sneaking up unexpectedly when angered on occasion. In a more formal or professional setting using profanity to express yourself makes a person not look in control or intelligent.

We just have much better words to use and the last thing I want is to have a doctor getting ready to operate on a child or the lawyer representing me in court who doesn't know them.

We all use them, but never underestimate the importance of perception and how you look to another person can matter.
