No I am not completely independent. It matters a great deal to me what some people think of me...the important people in my life. I know I can't please them all the time, but would like to at least have their respect.

absolutely. Whether I agree or disagree,we all have an opinion and have my respect. Now, if I am not respected...that's there problem not mine.
