I lived 6 years in the US, one year in Ga and 5 in Dallas. Studied theology there and was part of a number of churches. The singing is quite different there, especially in black churches and I hope you do get a chance to be part of a worship service in an American church. The songs are overall a lot more upbeat and positive, happy.

Certain Churches do, when I was a kid I went to several Baptist Churches and there was a lot of gospel style singing going on.

I am not the one to ask. It depends on the Church. I assume you seek Gospel? I was raised Methodist. They,
I felt' were on the dry side. And ours would switch pastors who were Baptists on certain times of the year.
You might simply look it up on the Internet to see what style they worship in. The Pentecost comes to mind.
But I cannot be certain.
