Check Recents if its a smartphone. If its a flip phone I believe you can still hit redial on those.

Not really.
You can google it. You can use Whitepages.com You can pay for their premium service, but the fact is, it may not be available. Those records are kept separately from landline records and are not accessible by most people for free.
