Ooh...sucks to be you... 😮
LostInTheDesert · 31-35, F
Yup

Why would that make someone sad?
LostInTheDesert · 31-35, F
The feeling is not mutual.
@LostInTheDesert: Well, just be honest and tell him, or show him by being a little more distant maybe. Sorry.
I could get so lucky. I'd be so happy. I'd count it a blessing.
SW-User
it was bound to happen sooner or later
LostInTheDesert · 31-35, F
Sucks, not feeling the greatest.
SW-User
:(

it's not your fault though
Cindy · F
Well from past experience of being in the friend zone never going to work out
Cindy · F
@LostInTheDesert: yeah my heart was broke a long time ago because of being in the friend zone feel for you it just does not work
LostInTheDesert · 31-35, F
Just wish it didn't reach this point.
Cindy · F
@LostInTheDesert: just take it easy easy and slow
EnigmaticGeek · 61-69, M
Well, if a female best friend said that to me, I'd certainly be open to the wondrous possibilities it could open up.

You're too young to have seen "When Harry Met Sally"
LostInTheDesert · 31-35, F
I will look for it.
SINAI · T
Didn't see that coming.
LostInTheDesert · 31-35, F
It was a slap to the face.
plungesponge · 41-45, M
mmmmhmmm. The truth is, guys would sleep with their "girl friend" if given a chance. That's how we're wired up.
plungesponge · 41-45, M
haha that's not how it really works with guys. As long as a woman is healthy and fertile, almost every guy will fantasize (even if it's deep within his subconscious) of sleeping with her. And the more time he spends with her, the stronger that impulse gets. Maybe this can explain better:

@plungesponge: All the girls say yes, all the guys say no.
plungesponge · 41-45, M
mmmmhmmm. Women, on the whole, understand that men want sex, but they dont quite want to believe *how much* men want sex. It's like cocaine to us, and we're all born addicts. And it's not like we don't care about women, but sex is our primary purpose for existing. We will take sex over sleep. We will take sex anywhere, any way, from peple we don't even know or like. We'll take sex even if we don't even feel like sex. Women find it hard to believe. They always think there *has* to be more going on in our heads (because they see it from their point of view). That's why women will say things like "Women like sex just as much as men" and really believe it, when the entire porn industry and Internet show that to be false.
PoizonApple · 41-45, F
Never happens
Danez · M
makes a great movie plot

I've been that dude. A real friend knows how to diffuse the situation.

Tell him he can do better. Help him find something better than you. You're his best friend... right?
LostInTheDesert · 31-35, F
Yes, childhood friends. We both move to the US together for Uni and pretty much do everything together.
SW-User
Give him my line and be a good wingman for a bit. It's not easy but you can unwind this.
LostInTheDesert · 31-35, F
@Kindheartedguy: I will try this. Thanks for the advice.
MellyMel22 · F
That hasn't happened, but him telling me his feelings and kissing me broke up our close friendship of many years.
LostInTheDesert · 31-35, F
I can totally understand.
MellyMel22 · F
😕
It happens often
