I have. I had a "best friend" at work tell me that she knew someone at a best western that could give me money (he helped people that were in school and had children), if I gave them money. He would add a zero to whatever I gave him.

"My friend" put in $50 and I overdraft my bank account to get $200. We were going to get "$2,500" back....so that overdraft didn't matter, because I could have just put it right back in.

We get to the best western...she goes in and comes back saying that she sent it... Then she gets a message from "this guy" saying that we have to go somewhere else to pick up the money.

Her entire attitude changed she was excited about getting this $2,500, to "we can just go get it tomorrow". No longer cared after I handed her $200.

I was pissed.... I knew that I had been had. I felt so fucking stupid and wanted to believe it was real. So I decided to play along with it.

3 days go by and she finally has the interest to go "pick up" the $2,500. So we talk to the guy and he tells me that we have to be there by a certain time, or there will be a fee. She deliberately waits until this time to leave to go get it and tells me that there is a $150 fee, in order to pick up the money.

I was broke, my bank account was overdraft and even if I did HAVE THE MONEY, I still would have been broke, because I wasn't falling for it again. I tell her that I didn't have the money and she starts trying to figure out how to get the money on her own. She even takes me to the mall, so she can return clothing for a little money.

She was whining and making a scene about me wanting to go with her. I wanted to stay at work and get overtime. I guess she did it to make the scam seem more ligit.

2 days go by and she had gotten the money, but never paid the fee. So she tells me that there is another fee on top of that fee, because we had waited so long to go pick it up. And we HAVE to get that money today, or it will go into fraud and everyone is going to go to jail.

By this time, I had already gotten online and seen that it was a scam and knew exactly what she was doing.

She was all kinds of "freaking out" (she's a great actor) and I was just calm and saying I couldn't do it. I didn't have the money (this happened on pay day).

She finally got pissed off and left. The next day she comes in and tells me that the guy "got fired", but wait a minute....I thought we were all going to jail?! LMAO.

Lesson learned.

Stay away from such friends. Far far away. They make the difference of hell and heaven in our life.

I'm going to admit that she is a great actress. I'm usually great at reading people because I'm very observant. I seriously thought that she was really my friend, or I wouldn't have went through with it, in the first place.

To this day, she still tries to contact me and I just ignore the texts and calls. She was telling me (at work), that she would give my $200 back. I said okay, but in the back of my mind, it was "yeah right".

I made sure that everyone at work was aware of this, so it wouldn't happen to them, too and they'd know how she REALLY is.

The sad part, is that I worked 2 days a week and she worked 7 days a week. I also have 3 young children (which is another reason I fell for the scam). Not to mention I pretty much give away money to people who need it. She could have just asked me for a little money and I would have just given it to her.

I now know who I'm NOT helping anymore. LOL

Yeh work. They'd give me support they'd do this and that and then give me a shit load of pressure coz targets haven't been met... well I did find a dead person in the workplace. Understanding is an understatement
I thought it was food.
