I respect a hard working farmer or rancher. It is not an easy job.

I do. I LOVE dogs. Never had one, though. But I dream of living in the country and having a big dog (outside). (Okay, he can come in on cold nights and lie at my feet in front of the fire.)

Sounds like where my Great Grandparents lived spent many awesome summers there they had chickens pigs hogs cows cats dogs and everything else first house in town to have indoor plumbing and electricity one dirt road

@ReaperofTime: I'm not quite that country. I grew up that way though. I have more self-sufficiency skills than most, I suspect.
Both my parents grew up without indoor plumbing. In fact, I remember when my grandmother finally got indoor plumbing in the early 80's.

@ProdigalSummer: My parents both grew up on large farms. They were next door neighbors. That is when I learned to love the country. I do remember getting indoor plumbing at home.

@SweetMae: I do miss it. My mom and I often talk about wishing we still had horses. The number one thing I miss the most was the night time sky at 8000 ft. On a clear night it looked cloudy because of all the stars.

Wow....I would certainly miss that too.
