It depends, It does rely on a LOT on the nostalgia factor. To anyone who played the original NES version and was a fan of the cartoon, it's an awesome tribute game, however younger people will just see it as a generic platformer.

I decided to take a risk and just get it mainly since it was on sale for only 6$ on the eshop plus I've heard many good things about it. I'm a fan of platformers so hopefully it's as good as many people say it is.
