I was in a tent in 26 degree F weather last night.
My son built a shelter in the woods and slept in it. If you are near woods or any patch of leaves and have to sleep outside, try to find a patch of dry leaves and make a bedding mound, bury yourself in and let the blankets cover over top and bury the edges into the leaves as well to try to block the wind / cold from you as much as possible. Find a tarp or anything like it if available near you to serve as a wind guard outer layer over top.
Tbf those were all voluntary things though on our part, not necessities, and we had bought gear specifically for it. I hope you get to a shelter soon!
