What did you think of Howard J Stern, Anna Nichole Smith's lawyer friend?

There was something very fake about him. When I watched them on the reality show he just seemed like he was just "there". He didn't seem like his heart was into her whatsoever not even as a friend. I suspect that he may have even had to do something with her and her son's death since they got married and not long before her death
