If you plan to do it often then here is my best advice. Wear leathers. If you don't then when (not if) you fall off you will loose skin to the road very quickly. I can tell you from personal experience that this is really painful.

Also , as a woman, wearing leathers will be to your advantage in other ways too.

I've been a passenger a couple of times. It scared the crap out of me. I'll stick with bicycles.
