Has anyone here flown a plane - how long did it take you to learn to fly a small vehicle? Or is learning to fly a 747 actually easier?

I knew a guy who wasn't a licensed pilot but he flew a small plane.
Apparently he did extremely well and had no prior experience, training and very little instruction if any.

As for what is easier to fly a 747 or a small plane, I have no idea.

I have a fair bit of experience in a C-150. Anything bigger (like a C-185) would have been a much more serious challenge!
