Are you? I think it’s more normal then people talk about but I guess those people don’t talk to each other...
maybesomeday · 31-35, F
@PrincessT Pretty abnormal I think. Most people form their friendships in childhood/young teenage years. If you don't manage to make friends at that stage in your life, it's even more difficult to do so in adulthood as a majority of people already have their group of mates and aren't wanting/needing any more.
PrincessT · 26-30, F
@maybesomeday I do agree it’s harder. However I don’t think it’s abnormal. Many people don’t talk to their friend forever or even make good ones at young ages.
You’re forced to be around certain kids as a child but as a teenager you have more choice and then after high school the truth is it’s hard to hold onto true friends. I think media portrays something taboo

Friendships can appear unexpectedly. But joining clubs or societies can be a great way to meet people who have similar interests. Enjoying singing? Join a choir! Keep bees? There will I am sure be a local beekeepers association. Running, other sports, rambling, etc...

And don't forget online friends count. And depending where you all are it's still possible to meet in person anyway :)
maybesomeday · 31-35, F
@Lhayezee I've been trying to make online friends since I was fourteen! Without success. No success in my "real" life either. There's not really anything to join where I am; I'm out in a small country town.

I'm twice your age and have one friend. Mainly because I married her a long time ago.
Peppa · 31-35, F
I can relate everyone now is focused on money and networking and of course fame!
At our ages it definitely feels like this is the hardest thing
Beatbox34 · 31-35, M
Lol I gave up making friends. It someone wants to be a friend then I let it happen but I don't look for it.
ScarletWitch · 31-35, F
I only have online friends.
SW-User
How’s it pathetic? I mostly find myself at work, if not I’m with my family or pets. Some of us got shit to do.
Beatbox34 · 31-35, M
@SW-User I approve this. We don't live for others but for ourselves.

"Friends" usually appear when they need something and are away when life turns sour.
maybesomeday · 31-35, F
@SW-User I have work, I have pets, I have a boyfriend. But I've not had friendship since I was fourteen, and honestly it takes its toll. There's a void there that can't be filled with said work, pets and boyfriend.
keith1701 · 56-60, M
I have very few friends, that's why I'm on here to hopefully make some. People are just too busy with their own lives nowadays. Maybe we could become friends!
nem16 · 36-40, M
I am not trusting enough to have many friends, acquaintances I have in abundance though.
maybesomeday · 31-35, F
@nem16 Seems I can't even find acquaintances either.
nem16 · 36-40, M
@maybesomeday These are mostly people my sister and her boyfriend know and like really.
Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
I have pretty constant contact with a couple of people that I haven't seen for years and one that I've never met IRL.
JovialPlutonian · 36-40, M
Pathetic by another's expectations. For them and their expectations of you.
