Rent, it's a fools game in a way, I'm not getting younger and the landlord (within rental control) can forever up rent. There is no mortgage due date, where it comes mine where I only have to pay taxes.

@elyay2001 Yes, but I once owned a place + insurance + taxes, less than my rent. The insurance and the taxes wouldn't be fixed, but the mortgage...

@elyay2001 Yes in a game where real estate keeps going up, equity is grand, but landlords want to pass on market value while they are the ones accumulating that value and not the renter. It's a missed aspect.

Live alone 80%of the year in my parents house but take care of all the bills.
Never found a reason to move out yet. If I get into a serious relationship and its about time to start a family I have downpayment saved up for a house 😁

@NewBeginnings7790 I don't know where you live, but in Toronto people who rent who want to move away, now sublet their apartments scared of the inflation of their rent. Owners unscrupulously, rub their hands together, anticipating their gain.
