I have done all the things I set out to do
I got started very young ,so I got a little cocky and arrogant along the way
My wife was fine ,I had a nice home ,classic car and a custom van both paid for and 3 kids by 22 ,I had already has 2 jobs boys in my home town would kill for
I was respected ,and who could tell me anything ,My Parents didn't have all the nice things I had ,,I was the first in the family with a 600 watt stereo
a console color tv with cassette and cable ,no one had cable yet ,it was just being put in ,but I had a buddy installing it ,so as soon as he could get a line to my neighborhood ,I had cable ,all the channels
More albums then anyone I knew ,and I smoked the best weed money could buy
And when I was not working on Locomotives I was rocking crowds with my band .
But in 1983 ,my wife had enough of the non stop party ,and she left taking my 3 girls ,,,I lost my will to live ,and my killer job
I was so ashamed of losing the job I took all kinds of BS jobs
Selling all my expensive tools to support my habits for peanuts
But I bounced back ,Was given a chance to help restore a mansion
found out I was good at building things and reproducing things you can't buy anymore ,and no one had to ask "Why are you not on the rail road ,wasn't that a job to die for "?where is your fine wife ?
Second wife ,same Mo ,Rock Star building mansions during the week ,touring weekends ,bigger home ,more drugs and Alcohol ,,more non stop parties
only now I have a PA that will rock your word many miles away ,I know my neighbors had to hate me ,,another wife bites the dust
Then I found my kids ,12 yrs had passed ,,but I finally knew where they were
So I moved to the city they grew up in ,I was clean and sober first time since I was 13
I set out to be super Dad ,,now I am Grandpa ,they call me Papaw
Now my grandkids are getting killer jobs at a young age
my daughters are nurses and my parents died proud of me
Its not over until its over ,and Money and fame is not everything
My kids were proud of me when I was washing 30 cars a day in the cold
I was not to good to do whatever it took to provide for them and see they had an awesome life ,now they are super parents ,and I am more proud of my family
then anything else I have ever done ,and I have done a lot
Hang in there ,,I started over the last time at 35 ,and I was disabled
