Yes, absolutely. I'm in UK which is becoming frightening.

@AndrewtheAlu I am 64 and never witnessed anything like the mad hysteria which is prevalent in UK. If we leave EU it will be Hell. If we don't leave EU, the Far Right Militants will make it Hell. Seems we can't win !

@AndrewtheAlu Thie who seek to stand up for what they believe in are now ridiculed by the thuggish elements in society.
@SW-User the thuggish elements who claim to be freeing people to stand up for what they believe in
Increase freedom of opinion by removing the need for facts, yada yada yada

Human society as a whole lacks discipline. Almost everyone is in a state of denial and defense. The sense of staying isolated to others is being stronger. None of the problems are recognized, let alone solving them. Your neighbor's problem is no longer your problem, but you expect help when you need it. The idea of self, self, and self is a scary thing. What government and thugs are doing is different, but the selfish side of human beings is scarier than ever.

Yah. Damn Brexit. Damn the Tories
SW-User
@Gangstress I agree. The Government is completely shambolic and in complete denial. What annoys me is that all the dipwits who fought for Brexit, like Farage and Boris have all buggered off !

@SW-User yep. David Cameron left us in this mess. Farage and boris were the main speakers/advocates. Where are they now?? Radio presenters! I mean who thought UKIP represented this country? We have more in common with immigrants than politicians.

I dread to think what this great country will end up being. Cameron and May have completely ruined it and have a lot to answer for.

Yep. We are facing dwindling resources and pretty soon the rise of cyber warfare, bio warfare and full blown cultural warfare.

Yes. There are not shelters any more. In the past you could move to different parts of the world, and it meant different realities. Or you could move to a small village or a monastery and retreat from the world. Today it is very hard to do it. There are regulations, controls, taxes everywhere.

The world being scary is subjective. In real terms the world is the more peaceful for more people than anytime in human history.

Yes in many ways.
I think it is. There used to be a time when only those who could reach you could really harm you. That is so far from being true anymore.
