Once when my son was a baby and my husband had major abdominal surgery and I was only working part time as a server. We would have starved with out it. I am grateful haven't needed them in 18 years now

We don't have food stamps in Canada so no I have never been on food stamps or welfare or any other government program aimed at the poor.
