I think it has a lot to do with what qualifies as a journalist these days. Not saying they haven't always been a bit like that, but it seems like pretty much anyone can become a "journalist" as long as they have an internet connection and strong opinions to one side or the other. That being said, I would say one of the biggest differences would be how awful their grammar has gotten. It gives me the impression that none of the editors are actually doing their jobs and at least reading over what they put out.

I can understand mistakes from bloggers but a journalist from major newspaper is downright ridiculous.

:0 I'm surprised someone actually notices a difference over years of times in journalists :D I don't follow up on those kinds of things enough to ever notice :D But now you made it sound interesting ;p

It’s easily noticeable in the written materials they produce.

It must be such a disappointment in that case :0

Very much, its very opinionated, small issue is truth, along with spelling and grammar!

Reading the newspaper was always a hobby of mine, it helped improved my English.

That’s all in the past now.
