It's never the dog's fault--it's the owner's. Properly, for lack of a better word, parented dogs don't do that. Chewing and fucking shit up is a sign of anxiety or other mental issues, likely due to the dogs being treated improperly, and the owner not understanding or caring about their needs.

Most people tend to view their dogs as humans, as part of the family. But they're an entirely different species, with different needs. They're not part of a family; they're part of a pack. And packs need leaders, and without a leader, the dog will attempt to fill that instinctual vaccum--the human won't understanf the dog is trying to take that role, so the human won't listen, leading to the dog's universe getting fucked up.

So, they chew shit.
