I doubt it.
Depends what it is they've done, but most prisoners like the idea of having a focus for their hatred.
It gives them a chance to be overlooked in terms of threat of assault when a cop comes in!!

Sometimes it's essentially a death sentence, or a sure way to torture. Sometimes they are basically VIPs.

They go into a special part of the prison, but other than that they are treated like every other prisoner.
