IMHO I hate it when I receive a message that reads simply "Hi"
I could scream!!!

On the other hand, if someone is looking at my profile and taking the time to read some of my stories, (And hearing them) I have a lot more respect for that person than the lazy one that just writes: Hi", Hey, How u doin? (Text speak bugs me too).

At least I think they are trying to be creative and draw me in...sometimes in a feeble manner, but they are trying

I think of messaging more along the line of:

I'll "Leave" you message, and the next time you are on line you can respond. I really don't wait for a response per se.

On the other hand, if you are both online and chatting, then I would have the courtesy of waiting for your response and respond immediately. Especially since you just pointed it out. haha.

When I heart a reply, it's because I agree with the statement. Sometimes, people say things that are very simple but profound. "Wow, why didn't I think of that?"
