I don't mind working on my birthday...it's just another day. BUT I don't like the being the center of attention it gets me each year, so I try to take the day off...and without much advance warning. If I speak up too far in advance that I'd like the day off they celebrate the day BEFORE my birthday.

No, I didn’t mind (I’m now retired)...it wasn’t a holiday.
