It's pretty good stuff

Of course. In my generation, almost everyone did at least once, even though it was illegal.

Marijuana: Effects of Weed on Brain and Body

Apart from the main active chemical in Cannabis, tetrahydracannabinol or THC, there are over 100 other psychotropic chemicals. The amount of each varies in every variety of the species, and varies according to where and how it is grown, and at what point it is harvested. This means that different smokes have different effects.

In addiction, people vary in the genetic and environmental influences on the balance of their teurotransmitters.
For this reason, weed affect each person somewhat differently.
People with a tendency to schizoid conditions or schizophrenia should avoid it because it causes paranoia and if strong enough can cause hallucinations.
This does not apply to sinsemilla, the unfertilised female flower, which has specifically antipsychotic effects and was traditionally used as such in Chinese since 2,000BCE.

In most people, a small amount, say one puff is relaxing, while several puffs cause a mild euphoria (happy mood.)
It often enhances sense perceptions.
Many women find it easier to get turned on with a loving partner and to reach orgasm.
It tends to reduce anger and makes some people too passive, and unlikely to finish projects.
It tends to suppress physical pain or make it more bearable.
In some, it alters perception of time.
It definitely slows reflexes, so it is unwise to operate machinery or drive a car under the influence.
It reliably increases appetite which is a great blessing for cancer sufferers undergoing chemotherapy.
It assists in the treatment of glaucoma and numerous other conditions.
It tends to suppress dreaming in sleep, which can be a problem long term, because 3 hrs dreaming per night is necessary for psychological health.

Smoking brings on the effects within seconds. Even though the effects have worn off by the morning after, residues can still be found in a blood test up to eight days later. Drinking the tea or eating it in cookies takes about half to one hour to feel the effect and it lasts much longer.
Smoking is almost certainly carcinogenic; the lungs were never evolved to cope with copious residues of tar. A vapouriser removes the smoke and delivers only the active ingredients.

I use a vaporiser two or three times a year on special occasions, but I have a friend who has smoked 8-12 bongs or pipes a day,for over forty years, with no visible ill-effects.

[c=#800055]yes weed is great, I can't believe how illegal it is especially when you compare it to alcohol. [/c]

Helps my arthritis. I live in California where it is now legal. But they've made it illegal in most of the small desert towns around where I live so now that it's legal it's harder to find.

I smoke it every day. For medicinal purposes.

Yup. It's legal here.
Nah. I've never smoked it.
