That happens all the time especially if you are shy or timid. or even both. If you want to spark a conversation with them, either about the training or something else. But right now i think everyone is concentrating on the training, but always asking for help can start way to conversation.

Find common ground about anything, be the most knowledgeable employee, be noticed by your superiors. As glum as it sounds you guys are there to work, not to socialize, but on the flip side if you make work easier, or better for everyone they will talk to you.
