About a week before he passed, he made a joke and I was laughing. He hugged me and told me to never lose my laugh because it was infectious. To this day, I can find humor in just about everything.

Ok he rarely gives useful advice but something that he keeps repeating - "Never take things for granted."

Of course it loses a bit of meaning when you see him not following his own advice all the time 🤔

His advice wasn't worth the breath it took to utter it. The man was clueless about so many things.

Nothing directly but I imbibed some of his patience, sense of understanding for people watching him. I always feel he could have been a great company and I could have learnt a lot more but it ended early.

never hold grudges against anyone. see god in everyone. each one is "SOMEBODY'S DARLING"

I have wonderful memories and realise it isn't easy as he made it appear. :) Thank you.

Two bits of advice from my Pop I've always found quote-worthy:

"Never say anything ABOUT someone you wouldn't be willing to repeat in his or her presence."

"You can learn something from every person you meet---even if only whom to avoid."

Funny I remember it after so many years, but the evening before he left he told me not to grow up to be like him.

His presence - physically or otherwise itself is a boon!
